When Stillness Becomes a Sanctuary

I’ve discovered that some of my most precious moments with the Lord have happened in the most unexpected places—while washing dishes, during long commutes, sitting in my backyard, or taking a quiet morning walk in the park.

Learning to be still isn’t just about sitting in silence. It’s about shutting out the noise and becoming attentive to God’s voice. Sometimes that looks like listening to instrumental worship with Scripture woven through it, letting the verses remind me of His promises and His character.

Other times, it’s simply sitting with my Bible—taking one verse and allowing it to sink deeply into my heart.

Meditating on His Word and learning to recognize His voice is like exercising a spiritual muscle. The more we practice, the more sensitive and in tune we become. And the beautiful thing is that God meets us right where we are, turning ordinary moments into intimate encounters with His presence. “Be still, and know that I am God.” — Psalm 46:10
